The news reaching the Newsroom of Arise News247 has it that, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) reaffirmed their warning to President Muhammadu Buhari not to visit any part of Biafra land for any reason whatsoever and warned him to cancel his proposed visit to Enugu today, while Buhari has vowed to visit Enugu irrespective of their threat.
IPOB said it would tantamount to big insult to the memory of all the unarmed Biafran heroes and heroines, killed by Buhari through his trigger-hungry soldiers during various peaceful protests and agitations for Biafra restoration. Also that Buhari whose hands are soiled in innocent Biafra blood and that has continued to hold IPOBI Leader, Nnamdi Kanu in illegal detention after kidnapping him should not make any mistake of visiting their land. ‘Failure to comply,’ they threatened that it will be bloody.
Mr Emma Nmezu and Dr. Clifford Iroanya, IPOB Spokespersons had issued serious statement on Monday 19th December, 2016 to that effect entitled, “MUHAMMADU BUHARI MUST STEER CLEAR OF BIAFRA LAND OR HAVE HIMSELF TO BLAME FOR THE OUTCOME OF ANY SUCH VISIT,”
The statement reads,
“MUHAMMADU BUHARI MUST STEER CLEAR OF BIAFRA LAND OR HAVE HIMSELF TO BLAME FOR THE OUTCOME OF ANY SUCH VISIT,”
“We have received information that retired Major General Muhammadu Buhari, who committed treason on December 31, 1983, and was rewarded with Nigeria’s presidency after 32 years, will be visiting Enugu-Biafraland on December 22, 2016.
“We warn that any governor or Igbo politician that receives Buhari in Enugu will have himself or herself to blame. We make it public that should there be a breakdown of law and order in Enugu on December 22, greedy Igbo politicians will have themselves to blame. Any Igbo governor or politician that is found among those hob-nobbing with Buhari becomes an enemy of the people and shall pay dearly for it.
“Until all those detained are released, and the Amnesty International report investigated, Buhari is not allowed into any part of Biafraland. Let Buhari know that if he comes to Enugu or any part of Biafraland, we will die with him there.
“We are, therefore, calling on all Biafrans to descend on Enugu on the said date of December 22, 2016 to show our anger and displeasure at this attempt by some greedy Igbo men to insult the memory of our glorious dead and those still in detention with our leader.
“Should Buhari attempt to set foot on Enugu soil, everybody involved, from Barth Nnaji to Governor Ugwuanyi, will regret it. “Any governor or Igbo politician stupid enough to invite Buhari into our capital will be taught a lesson that will reverberate in history.”
According to Arise News247 Aso Rock source, the president has vowed that Nigeria is a sovereign state and that no group of persons can stop him from visiting any part of the country. Our source also added that, “as at now all security arrangements have been finalized for the president’s visit to Enugu.”
IPOBI on the other hand has massively mobilized their members across all Eastern states to Enugu for what can be described as the clash of the titans.
Will Buhari still make good his promise? And will IPOBI be able to mobilize enough to stop the president’s proposed visit? Today is the D-Day.

Massive protest as IPOB grounds Enugu to a halt over Buhari’s proposed visit.
IPOB had earlier warned Buhari not to visit any state in the East for any reason whatsoever. And Buhari on his own has vowed to visit Enugu today, so IPOB mobilized their members across the Eastern States of Nigeria for a showdown in case Buhari wants to make good his threat.
Thus, since the early hours of today, Thursday 22nd December 2016 members of the Independent People of Biafra have taken to the street, especially around the Airport to make good their threat.
Till the time of filling this report, Buhari has not been seen anywhere around Enugu and the information filtering into the ears of Arise News247 Owerri correspondent has it that the Presidency might have cancelled the proposed visit (by Buhari) to avert security breach.
