CHRISTIANS UNITED FOR ISRAEL (CUFI) ‘Campaign to Stop US Funding of the UN’
Last week, President Obama struck a powerful blow against Israel at the United Nations. He refused to veto a biased Security Counsel resolution that singled out Israel for blame and declared illegal all Israeli construction in the lands it liberated in 1967.
According to Obama and the UN, Jewish homes in the ancient Jewish quarter of Jerusalem are illegal.
According to Obama and the UN, the Western Wall– the holiest site in Judaism — is occupied Palestinian land.
This vote sends a dangerous message to the Palestinians. It tells them that their refusal to compromise with Israel will be rewarded. It tells them that their cash payments to terrorists will be ignored. It encourages them to expand their BDS movement to boycott Israel.
There must be consequences to this action. It’s too late to punish President Obama — his political career ends in less than a month. But with your help, we can punish the institution that passed this evil decree — the UN.
The time has come to recognize that the UN is a terribly biased and ineffective body. It cannot stop war. It cannot stop genocide. About the only thing it seems capable of doing is ganging up on Israel.
Despite this pathetic record, we still pay for over 20% of the UN’s budget! This funding must stop. We intend to work with our friends in the Trump Administration and in Congress — including Senators Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz — to cut off all U.S. support for the UN.
Early in the New Year, CUFI will launch a multi-front campaign to cut U.S. funding to the United Nations. This campaign will include:
Meetings with our members of Congress both at home and in Washington;
A massive e-mail blitz;
An online advertising blitz; and
If we have sufficient funds, full-page newspaper advertisements.
