Arise News247 authoritatively obtained that the 2017 edition of the Annual Workers’ Day Celebration became national embarrassing drama in Abuja today 1st May 2017 as the President, (Mohammadu Buhari) as well as the Vice President was conspicuously missing for the first time in such an all important occasion in the history of the country.

The President of the Nation usually addresses the country on important days like Workers’ Day, Independence Day, Democracy Day etc. In addition the President (and in most cases with his Vice) always grace the occasion of the Workers’ Day Celebration.

However, this year the President neither addressed the nation nor appeared during the Workers’ Day Celebration.

Thus, when it was time for the President to address the Workers on this all important day, he was no where to be found, while the Vice President as well as the Federal Minister of Finance was in Lagos for an “Economic Platform”.

Owing to the fact that the Presidency had insisted that the President is “hale and hearty” despite the contrary circumstances like the President missing all important FEC meeting three times consecutively, missing the weekly Jummat Prayer conducted right inside Aso Rock and now Workers’ Day Speech and the celebration. Thus, the workers insisted that the “hale and hearty” President must address them, when the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Productivity attempted to address the National Workers on behalf of the President. The workers thus started shouting “We no go gree, we no go gree” and creating scene at the venue

All attempts to calm them proved abortive as the noise was becoming louder and the shouting translated to, “Oshimhole Ole, Oshimhole Ole” (meaning Oshiomhole is a thief) and the workers began to walk out in droves, which turned the occasion to monumental national embarrassment.
