Arise News247 has authoritatively obtained that the People Democratic Party (PDP) has clearly dissociated from the new party, APDA, that had been claiming to be an offshoot of PDP. The national body of the PDP hereby stated clearly that all “innuendos, speculations and ambiguity that may threaten the continued unity and solidarity” of members of PDP should be finally laid to rest.
The information was contained in the statement released by Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the National Publicity Secretary (NPS) to the National Caretaker Committee (NCC) of the PDP, which was titled, “WE HAVE NOT SPONSORED ANY NEW PARTY”
Prince Dayo categorically and fundamentally asserted that, “for the avoidance of doubt, we reiterate once again that we are not in any way associated with the New Party in any form or guise. The APDA is neither an offshoot of the PDP nor its alter ego as some are speculating.”
Concluding by thanking “millions of well-meaning Nigerians for their concern and commitment to the defense of our nascent democracy.” boldly declaring that “in the end, this democracy cannot survive without a strong and vibrant opposition.
Arise News247 notes that the proponents of the new party, APDA, had been masquerading under the guise of been an offshoot of the PDP by erroneously claiming that the formation of APDA is the “plan B” for the Makarfi led faction of the PDP. The propaganda was garnished with the cloak of High Chief Raymond Dokpesi been the main brain behind the new party, APDA.
In the light of the above, so many PDP members had been lured into the new party as they didn’t research properly to uncover that APDA is a new party on its own for the political interests of the proponents. Arise News247 also authoritatively gathered that members of APDA had been canvassing for membership for their new party from various PDP groups and gatherings.
