DRAMA AS NIGERIAN MILITARY DECLARES IPOB AS A MILITANT TERRORIST GROUP

It was a mild drama in Nigeria as the the Defence Headquarters went out of their way to declare the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a “militant terrorist organisation,’’ Arise News247 reports

Ordinarily and in any sane society it is not the duty of the military to proscribe any group under a democratic regime.

However, the Director of Defence Information (DDI), Maj.-Gen. John Enenche, has in a statement reaching Arise News247 in Abuja today, Friday, 15th September, 2017 without considering the provision of the constitution declared that IPOB has been security threat and had been transmuting from one stage to another: thus, declared IPOB a militant group, urging parents and guardians to discourage their children from joining or associating with the group.

It becomes more amusing when one considers the marauding Fulani Herdsmen with their sophisticated weapons, almost annihilating entire communities; continually on the prowl, yet were rather rewarded with cash through a siting governor and not declared as a terrorist group.
