Arise News has confirmed that the shawwal moon has been sighted in Pakistan. Thus, signaling the end of the Muslim fasting! Also Eid-ul-Fitr will be on Wednesday 6th July, 2016.
Arise News also gathered that for the first time in several years Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated worldwide on the same day, that also includes Pakistan!
“The crescent of new Islamic month Shawwal-ul-Mukarram has been sighted in Pakistan and the Muslims will mark the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr on Wednesday (July 6).”
Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman made a formal announcement to this effect at a press conference in Lahore.
He said that “testimonies of moon sighting were received from across the country and that they were verified on the religious as well as legal grounds.”
