CRISES IN ENUGU AS A FULANI KILLED AN IGBO MAN OVER N100

Arise News247 gathered that there was a crises in the popular Gariki market in Enugu with two people dead and a mosque burnt on the evening of Wednesday 28^th December, 2016

According an eyewitness who spoke to Arise News247 Enugu correspondent, the crises started over a disagreement between one Ifeacho Ifeanyi and a Fulani man identified as Ali over N100.

The Fulani man (Ali) was said to have gone to Gariki market abattoir to slaughter a cow. And he was to pay N500, “but he paid N400 and insisted that he would not balance the N100,” which sparked a disagreement between him and Ifeanyi leading to fight. Ali was reported to have brought out “a dagger and stabbed Ifeanyi repeatedly in the stomach to the extent that his intestine bulged out,” our source revealed.

The Igbo man, Ifeanyi, died on the spot and the Fulani (Ali) attempted to escape, but the Igbo traders who rushed to the scene only to realize that Ifeanyi was on the ground lifeless, angrily descended on the Fulani man and beat him to death. The infuriated Igbo traders proceeded to burn the mosque located inside the Gariki market.

However, the anti-riot police was quickly drafted to the scene to avert the situation degenerating into serious crises.

The PPRO of Enugu State Police Command confirming the incident to Arise News247 Enugu State correspondent said “The situation has been brought under control and normalcy has since been restored.” Concluding that investigation into the incident has commenced.
