Arise News247 gathered that the embattled incumbent president of The Gambia, Yahya Jammeh, finally succumb to ECOWAS’ threat as he demanded for a shift in the earlier ultimatum issued by the ECOWAS forces to willingly vacate office or he is forcefully removed.

Though Yahya Jammeh couldn’t meet up with the 4pm ultimatum issued by ECOWAS, but according to the reliable report reaching Arise News247, Jammeh is seriously preparing to vacate office and go on exile to Guinea Conakry.

This is just as Gambia’s Army Chief, General Ousman Badjie, insisted that he recognizes Adama Barrow as the new president and the commander-and-chief. Thus, he is not ready to fight a regional force that is hellbent on removing Yahya Jammeh if he refuses to willingly bow out.

He categorically asserted to Reuters in an interview today as follows:

“We are going to welcome them with flowers and make them a cup of tea.”

“This is a political problem. It’s a misunderstanding. We are not going to fight Nigerian, Togolese or any military that comes,” the Army Chief concluded.
