FULANI ATTACK ON KAGORO – GIDAN WAYA AXIS: As Reported By Emmanuel Gandu
1. On Monday, 31/1/2022:
(a) The unprovoked Fulani herdsmen raped, macheted, and maimed several women with gun shot sounds heard as far as Kafanchan and other nearby towns. All this happened in the village of Tsonjei close to Agban Kagoro.
(b) In the confusion some students of College of Education, Gidan Waya who were returning to Kagoro after their lectures were attacked and are in the hospital. One of the students is confirmed dead. It is not clear if the other 2 are still alive.(c) Some Kagoro vigilante with local hunters guarded Tsonjei over night to prevent any further attack from the invading Fulani heardsmen.2.
2. Tuesday, 1/2/2022:
(a) The Fulani herdsmen returned in their hundreds to Tsonjei between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon and burnt down almost all the houses in Tsonjei, food crops and anything on sight. This was easy for the Fulani herdsmen because the vigilante and local hunters had retreated to their houses for breakfast.
(b) Between the hours of 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm (same day) the Fulani herdsmen returned with heavy reinforcement and bombardment as the booming of guns was deafening in the entire environment.
(c) The sounds of gun shots subsided from 6.30 pm. It is believed that the Fulani herdsmen have made a tactical retreat possibly to return at the dead of night to advance further into Kagoro proper to kill and destroy.
(d) The number of people (confirmed) killed as today stands at 2 with two students at critical condition in the hospital, and one man in the theater for the extraction of bullets lodged in his body.
(e) I am making these efforts of updating the general public about this unfortunate situation with the hope that someone somewhere will inform or put a call across to the appropriate authority and security personnel to act fast in order to save innocent lives and property from both the Fulani herdsmen and the indigenous people of the land.
