The candidate for Federal House of Representatives, Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency of Kogi State under the platform of National Rescue Movement (NRM), Rev. Emmanuel Sunday Olorunmagba, asserted that the old order has not only failed Nigerians woefully, but has expired and so must be discarded by patriotic Nigerians in order to rescue our country.
This was disclosed when he was addressing pressmen in Kabba, Kogi State shortly after inspecting the facility housing his campaign office that is being set up at the heart of Kabba town.
“There is serious need to rescue our beloved nation from total collapse, as absolutely nothing is working in Nigeria and the entire system is sinking from bad to worse, heading down to the worst. Can we continue to do the same thing and expect different results?
“So we cannot continue with the old and expired order that has failed the country woefully and expect a better country”, he added.
Stressing further that the forthcoming 2023 general elections should be about rescuing Nigeria and no longer strict adherence to the “if not PDP then it has to be APC syndrome” that has caged Nigerians between the same set of people who turned governance to family inheritance at the expense of the governed.
He lamented that going round Okunland, especially Kabba-Bunu and Ijumu LGAs “the questions that always come to my mind include that, those representing us at the National Assembly, what do they do with the constituency projects funds they have been receiving? What meaningful and notable developmental projects have they attracted from the federal government to their constituency to reduce the level of unemployment among our youths? Do they ever think of the poverty rate in their constituency and what can he done for those who have been supporting and voting for them? How many people oriented bills have they sponsored to address part of the problems bedeviling Nigeria?
“These and many other pertinent questions begging for answer have triggered my desire to release myself to serve through the House of Representatives. And I have also decided to ignore the old order and come through the platform of a party that was formed in 2017 so we can turn a new leaf for new life.”
On the inspected campaign office, the cleric who also doubles as a politician, expressed satisfaction both in the location and the building; however added that some renovation will be carried out immediately. He thanked his supporters “for the giant stride towards the journey to the Green Chamber”.
