Arise News gathered that following the initial failure of APC to take over Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Ebonyi and Rivers State and with total failure beckoning on APC in Edo State; the desperate party that is believed to be determined to takeover at least a state in the east will not stop at anything until the ambition is achieved.
Our source reported that some APC stalwarts are alleged to have plotted another backdoor takeover by scheming Dr. Uche Ogah to become Abia State governor and shortly after decamp to APC capitalizing on the power struggle between Makarfi and Sheriff.
Despite the appeal filed immediately by the incumbent Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie and served on INEC, which INEC acknowledged the receipt: yet INEC in defiance of the appeal hurriedly issued certificate of return to Dr. Uche Ogah
And the Electoral Acts clearly spelt it out that an appeal
against any judgement which voids an
election operates automatically as a stay
of action pending the determination of the appeal.
However, the governor has secured an injunction from Abia
State High Court restraining the Chief
Judge of Abia or any judicial officer from
swearing Ogah in as Governor pending the
determination of a motion for interlocutory injunction.
