Arise Initiatives Int’l (an umbrella body of vibrant youths in Nigeria) endorses BARRISTER (AMB) ALABH GEORGE TURNAH (mon)  as PDP National Youth Leader.

Rising from a brief meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of Arise Initiatives Int’l yesterday, the group solidly expresses her supports for the candidature of Barr. (Amb) Alabh George Turnah (mon) as the best candidate for the PDP National Youth Leader.

Hence, the National Secretary of the group, Comrade Steve Adigbo urged all members of the group that are part of the delegate for the PDP National Convention to massively cast their votes for Turnah. He also added that all members of the group should as a matter of urgency massively mobilize delegates to vote Turnah to ensure the young and energetic Barrister secure landslide victory.

Considering his profile, there is no better candidate for the National Youth Leader of the PDP at a time when the party needs total restructuring to get power back to the people come 2019.

Below is the brief profile of Barr. (Amb) Alabh George Turnah:

– A great team player, who always bubbling with great ideas.

– A humble, unassuming, focused, and courageous son who is absolutely committed to his beliefs

-Nigerians’ Youngest National Honour Holder(Barrister (Ambassador) Alabh George Turnah, Member of the Order of the Niger (MON)

– Elected as the pioneer Deputy Speaker of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) as an IJMB student of the Institution, Bayelsa State College of Arts and Science (BYCAS)

– Graduated in 2008 with a second class and bagged the Bachelor of Law (LLB Degree). Call to the Nigerian Bar in 2010.

– He lends credence to the commitment of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s vision as one learns of how the potential in George Turnah were discovered early and put to use by his mentor, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR.

– Many even say he could be another Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in the making. Little wonder the bond that exists between Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR and George Alabh Turnah, MON whom the former has consistently treated as his beloved son to this day.

– The gracious and selfless display of motherly love by the first lady to her child, George Turnah, has undoubtedly impacted on Turnah.

– George Alabh Turnah began his active unionism in 2004 when he was elected the Secretary General, (NANS) Rivers/Bayelsa States Joint Campus Committee

– Again in 2005 and 2006 he was elected into a higher office, this time as Secretary – General of NANS Zone B

– At the twilight of his Student Unionism, he was rewarded for his immense contributions to Union struggle with his meritorious ascendance to being elected as number two student of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Vice – President, National Affairs of the National Association of Nigeria Student (NANS), a position he held from 2007 to 2008 and performed to the admiration of Nigerian students.

–  George Turnah’s achievements as a student unionist includes, but not limited to, the reinstatement of politically victimized and rusticated Student Unionist, sustained struggle for improved welfare package for Nigerian Students, strong resistant on increment of school fees and mobilization of constructive campaign against cultism and other social ills.

– He was among vocal voices for the campaign on the cancellation of Nigeria’s foreign debt by the Paris Club.

– He was a leading activist in the planning and execution of notable rallies in his desire to see the emergence of an egalitarian Nigerian society like the “Save education; save the future” rally in 2002, “Save Democracy” rally in 2004 (against increase in pump price of petroleum products), Anti Deregulation and Privatization rally in 2005, and the very recent “Save Nigeria” rally amongst others.

– His contributions to Nation building especially with respect of his efforts in re – defining Students’ Unionism in Nigeria paid off in 2011 when he was conferred with the prestigious National Honours Award of the Member of the Order of the Niger, MON by His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR, making Nigeria’s youngest holder of National Honours.

George Turnah’s foray into partisan politics saw him pitching his tent with the People Democratic Party (PDP), where he has enjoyed massive mentorship, support and encouragement from a man he chose to call “my father”, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR.

– His political convictions have remained largely the defining influence he has garnered from his mentor, President Jonathan. This has effectively shaped him to becoming one of the finest young political actors that Bayelsa state has contributed to Nigeria.

-Alabh George Turnah, MON is the Chairman of the EL – GODAMS and CELTIC GROUP OF COMPANIES. The companies as at today, under the entrepreneurial leadership of the young capitalist currently have no fewer than 100 young Nigerians under its pay roll.

– Barr. Alabh George Turnah MON is an active member of highly respected and reputable professional, political and cultural associations. Some of these includes the: Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Ijaw Youth Council (IYC)Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP)Jonathan Youth Vanguard (JOY)Transform Nigeria Initiative (TNI) Ogbia BrotherhoodNiger – Delta University Alumni Association (NDUAA) and Progressive Democratic of Nigeria.

– Awards he has received include: United Nation’s Peace Ambassador Award 2010 by the Universal Peace Foundation; Life Member Award 2008 by the Niger Delta University Student Union Government; Peace/Unity Symbol Award 2009, by National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS); Pride of Bayelsa State Students Award 2008 by the National Union of Bayelsa State Students (NUBSS); Best Performing Student Leader of the year Award 2005 at the occasion of the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), held in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital; Achievers Frontiers Award 2011, by Unique Global Peace Initiative and Most Friendly Public Officer Award 2012 by the Rumuola Youth Forum on the 29th of December, 2010.

-The young, articulate, vibrant and ever conscious student unionist cum youth leader was conferred with the chieftaincy title of the “Ochi–agha ndi Ntorobia 1 of Nigeria”, meaning “The War Lord of Nigerian Youths”…
