The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, whose body language gathered massive supports for APC in the 2015 general elections, has declared technical war against APC.
The cleric who can be regarded as a very gentle General Overseer ordered members of his ministry to massively register as card-carrying members of political parties of their choices in order to massively mobilize votes against the administration that has been found of “meddlesome on church matters in the country.”
This is technical way of mobilizing his members to vote against APC that is presently in power churning out “deliberate anti-Christian laws to interfere in church affairs.”
This was made public during the 2017 Ministers’ Annual Thanksgiving on Saturday 7th January 2017 at the Redemption Camp, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
He boldly declared, “The government has been showing increasing interest in church affairs. Unfortunately, for us in RCCG, it might not be very helpful.
For example, when I decided on what will be the pension of our pastors, what I decided is not done anywhere in the world.
That somebody will retire and continue to earn full salaries all his lifetime.
This, I started, but government stepped in and made a law that we should be contributing to pension fund.
We’ve to obey and we started doing that. The results are that pastors don’t get as much as they were getting under our own previous arrangement.
But what can we do? We’ve to obey the law.
Other fresh laws had been enacted by the government to ruffle the feathers of church in the country, with a particular target on RCCG.” He asserted.
“Now there are fresh laws. We have a rough idea of what the law is about.
Some people believe that RCCG is becoming too influential and we’re going to be more influential.” He lamented.
The gentle cleric then ordered, “When you get home, tell members to join a political party.
Join a party and become a card-carrying member of any party. Just join any party. We shall decide issues right from ward level.
If you are not active at ward level, you’ll do what they plan and say at the top.
Enroll in any party of your choice and have a card.
When holding meeting at ward level to choose delegates, be there.”
He cited an example of a Muslim in Ibadan who “said years ago that he didn’t know what’s wrong with Christians that we help them to occupy political positions and serve, refusing to capitalise on our population.
That’s going to change from now,” he stressed.
Further explaining that, according to the “new law that has been announced, they said that nobody can be overseer for more than certain number of years.
And according to that law, people like me, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor W. F. Kumuyi, Bishop Mike Okonkwo were already gone.” He concluded before announcing the new overseer for the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
It is of note that so many Christians and pastors voted APC and even worked for the party largely because the body language of the highly respected man of God tends towards APC.
Before the 2015 general elections pictures of Pastor Adeboye with Buhari (while Buhari is wearing cap inside church) was widely circulated among Christians to converse support for APC.
Also more other pictures of the cleric with other APC chieftains like, Ambode, Fashola, Aregbesola etc were used by APC to depict endorsement of the spiritual father of many highly place pastors (Daddy Adeboye).
To crown it all, when both Osinbajo and Jonathan attended his last monthly night vigil before the election, his prayer for both of them was interpreted as his public expression of full endorsement for the APC.
While he prayed for Goodluck Jonathan that God should give him wisdom to handle the diverse problems besieging the country under his administration, he prayed that God should grant Osinbajo the desire of his heart.
However, the turn of events came after Pastor Adeboye visited Ekiti and commended Governor Fayose. APC leadership lashed insults at him alleging him of been bribed with huge sum of money to support governor Fayose. Many people were then asking if he was also bribed to support APC before the elections.
As if that was not enough an obnoxious regulation was slammed on the church using RC which “provides that a religious leader of a registered religious organisation should step down after 20 years in office or on attainment of age 70.” With this Pastor Adeboye was technically forced out of office which the same APC systematically rode to power.

I am not happy for what this government is doing to the church , i don’t blame Pmb, i blame we the Christian who has worked to for APC to win the 2015 election, it is we the Christian who wants to destroy the church of God in Nigeria. Not the Muslims, they the Muslims know what they always want but we the Christian don’t know what they want, the Christian easily forget things that are connected to the church, this is a man who said years ago, that if he become, again, the President of this country, he will make this country an Islamic country, but, all the Christian where warn, but still what did they do, they voted in an Islamic part, and voted out a Christian and they expect things to be different.
