Senator Kabiru Marafa of APC, representing Zamfara Central has issued a statement of threat, harassment and intimidation on behalf of his party (APC) against the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremandu ordering him to defect to APC in order to retain his seat.
The APC Senator boldly declared on behalf of his party, “Let me call the Deputy President of the Senate, Ekweremadu to defect to APC. If he defects, it will seal everything and there will not be any problems again. Ekweremadu’s seat is the only one we are contesting. That seat belongs to us in the APC. He came from the PDP to take the seat.
“If he just accepts and defects to APC, everything will be fine. Instead of moving against his seat, let him join us now. Tell him to join APC. When he refuses to join APC, you can then come back here and ask me what to do next. He has the golden opportunity to join us. The constitution says that when there is crisis in a party, anybody can defect. As a person, I do not want to move against Ekweremadu’s seat.”
One will still wonder the kind of magic these power hungry people are planning, since according to the constitution the APC does not have the required number to impeach the Deputy Senate President as they need minimum of 73 Senators for such evil agenda.
As a reminder, APC chieftains are known for threat, intimidation and harassment as publicly exhibited during the build up towards the 2015 general elections.
Precisely Buhari, Atiku etc issued various statements threatening bloodshed if Buhari looses the 2015 presidential election.
While Buahri said, “If what happened in 2011 (alleged rigging) should again happen in 2015, by the grace of God, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in blood.”
Atiku vowed, “Those who make peaceful changes impossible make violent changes inevitable.”
You can’t just remove him on the pages of newspaper, you must follow due proccess.
