Muslim fanatics attacked and burnt down another church building of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Area Headquarters, Root of David Parish in Apiawe, Deidei Abuja suburb. Arise News247 also confirmed that the Muslims also carted away the church equipment and other valuables.
According to an eyewitness, Mr. Elisha Yahaya, who spoke with Arise News247 correspondents, the Islamic fundamentalists “arrived the church when no worshiper was inside at about 4;56am on Monday” 13th February 2017 and “broke into the church chanting ‘Allah Akbar’ looting the church equipment and other valuables before setting the church ablaze,” Elisha recounted.
When Arise News247 correspondents arrived the scene, it was only the dilapidated four corner walls of the church building that remain. The church was completely burnt with nothing left apart from the walls standing.
However, Arise New247 could not reach the pastor as he was not around as at the time our correspondents arrived the scene. Those on ground refused to give our correspondents the phone number of the pastor.
About two weeks ago Muslim fanatics were reported to have burnt another church around the area as well as November, 2016 Islamic fundamentalist also invaded a Catholic church in Abuja, chasing out the worshipers who have gone to the church to pray before vandalizing the church; carting away the church equipment as usual then set the church on fire.
