Arise News247 authoritatively obtained that Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity has finally confirmed the news making round on social media that the Presidential Aircraft has been parked in London for 53 days now, waiting for Buhari, while the country is paying daily charges for the parking.

This he disclosed in a statement he released today,  June 29, 2017 in an attempt to counter the amount circulated that the country is paying daily for the parking and to attempt to justify the parking of the presidential aircraft in London.

Garba declared that “the retention in London of the Presidential Aircraft, NAF 001” is part of the “protocol around foreign trips by Heads of State all over the world,” adding also that “It is important to state that for reasons of protocol, national security, diplomacy and prestige, there is no world leader who travels abroad and is left without plans for immediate return or possible evacuation.

He also claimed that they “have also read claims about outrageous fees allegedly paid by Nigeria. The published amounts are totally untrue. Aircraft conveying heads of state all over the world usually enjoy waivers even where payments for parking are differentiated by aircraft categories. We been assured that where the waiver is not granted, payment will not exceed £1,000, which is a quarter of the amount being peddled,” Garba maintained.

If the figure given by Shehu Garba is anything to go by that means going by the official N409.62 to £1 that means for the 53 days that the Presidential Aircraft has been parked in London, only the accumulated parking fees would have been N21,710,031.

  1. I pray for the president quick recovery .my advice is that let them flight aircraft back to the country went the president is okey they will now go and bring back to avoid all those huge amount of money being spend for landing and parking

  2. Make una no vexooooo! Impliedly, I presume the Presidio is giving himself his own funeral bills as a burden to the country in advance, since his Islamic faith doesn’t allow for time wasting and elaborate funeral, in the event of his imminent demise.

  3. Iam shocked that d Presidency can gloat over a collosal waste of our patrimony particularly now when pple can’t eat a meal. Pray, why is it necessary to kp a plane in another land with d full complement of staff idlying away in cosy hotels when communication has simplified evry act under d universe? There is more than meets d eye on sincerity n it will be better smebody comes clean on this melodrama.
