At the African Cup of Nations holding in Cameroon, the Super Eagles of Nigeria was flying high; having won all group matches so topping the table and scaling to next round with 100% victory.
But contrary to expectations, at the knockout stage, the Eagles could not fly as the Nigerian goal keeper, Maduka Okoyem, could not save the 47 minutes long range shot from Tunisian captain, Youssef Msakni, hence starting the second half down by one goal (of course after a goalless first half).
Then Alex Iwobi was only introduced to come to the field to collect red card, as he spend only 5 minutes on the field, having contact with the ball once and got his red card on the second contact. Despite the style of Kelechi Iheanacho he earned yellow card.
As if that was not enough, in the 91st minutes (1 minute into the added 5 minutes extra time), Nigerian side could only push the ball out of touch for a harmless goal-kick despite having golden empty net opportunity.
And the Covid-19 hit Tunisian side that only struggled to qualify as best loser from the bottom of the table humiliated Nigeria (that qualified as the best on top of the table) out of AFCON.
What a bad day for Nigeria as some Nigerians tried to console themselves by blaming the defeat on the video call made by president Mohammadu Buhari to the team, insisting it brought bad luck to the senior team of the country!
